Ķīšezers
Ķīšezera vidējais dziļums ir 2,4 metri, bet maksimālais dziļums – 4,2 metri. Ezerā atrodas 3 salas ar kopējo platību 8 ha, no tām lielākā ir Sniķera sala. Ezera krasti gan lēzeni ziemeļu daļā, gan stāvi pie Mežaparka un vietām ziemeļaustrumu krastā. Ja ir spēcīgs rietumu vējš, ezerā caur Mīlgrāvi ieplūst iesāļūdens no Rīgas jūras līča. Ezerā mīt karūsa, ķīsis, līdaka, rauda, sapals, plaudis, vimba, plicis, rudulis, sudrabkarūsa, salate, zandarts, jūras salaka, līnis, zutis, asaris, kā arī sams. Galvenie piekrastes augi ir niedres, ezera meldri, šaurlapu vilkvālītes un kalmes. Tālāk aug baltā ūdensroze, lēpes, peldošās glīvenes, elodejas.
Senākais ezera nosaukums bija Ropažu ezers, vēlāk saukts arī par Stintezeru. Lielākā pieteka — Jugla. Pirms tika izraksts Mīlgrāvja kanāls, kas savienoja Daugavu ar Ķīšezru 13.gs., ezera ūdens pa Langu iztecēja uz Gauju. Ķīšezera dienvidu krasts piederēja Livonijas ordenim, kas 1297. gadā uz Bērzupītes jeb Bukultu strauta (tagad Juglas kanāls) iekārtoja savas ūdens dzirnavas un mūra pili, ko sāka saukt par Jaunajām dzirnavām jeb Bukultu pili. 1924. gadā Rīgas pilsētas teritorijā iekļāva Ķīšezera dienvidu un rietumu krastu, bet 1927. gadā austrumu krastu.
